Mazda 6 is a mid-range car which has been produce in Japan since 2002. Currently, the third generation of this car has been made since 2012.
Mazda6 I was the successor of Mazda 626. First shown in 2002. The car very quickly gained the recognition of consumers and took the second place in European Car of the Year plebiscite in 2003. The first facelift took place in 2005. This model is available in 7 different variants of the gasoline engine: 1.8 MZR of 120 HP, 2.0 MZR of 141 or 147 HP, 2.3 MZR for 162, 166, 175 and 178 hp, 2.3 MZR DISI Turbo for 260 hp and 3.0 V6 VTT for 220 hp. The diesel version is 2.0 MZR – CD with powers of 121, 136 and 143 hp.
The second generation of Mazda 6 has shown in 2007 in Frankfurt. After three years, this model underwent a facelift, in which the front bumper was changed mainly. Other additions were rear-view mirrors with integrated turn signals, a new center console finish and a larger mileage display and the “ECO” light. Mazda 6 II in this configuration, had its debut in 2010 in Geneva. Possible gasoline engine versions in this Mazda model are: MZR 1.8 power 120 HP, 2.0 MZR power 147-155 HP, 2.5 MZR power 170 HP and 3.7 MZI V6 276 KM. Diesel: 2.0 MZR-CD power 121 – 140 hp, 2.2 MZR-CD power 163-185 hp.
The latest and current version of Mazda6 is its 3rd generation. It has first appeared in Moscow in September 2012. Two years later Mazda underwent a facelift. The car has been equipped with a 7-inch touch screen, 4×4 drive (only in estate versions). There is also a new radiator grille with a characteristic wing. Variants of gasoline engines are: 2.0 Skyactiv-G 145 and 164 hp and 2.5 Skyactiv-G with the power of 192 hp. The diesel version is as follows: 2.2 Skyactive-D with 150 and 175 hp.
